Wu-Tang Clan co-founder RZA leaked his involvement in "DJ Hero 2" earlier this year, and the full "DJ Hero 2" track list confirmed that FreeStyleGames would be using his beats. Activision made everything nice and official today, though, and he'll be playable!
"I'm very excited to be involved with 'DJ Hero 2,'" RZA said in a press release. "As both a DJ and gamer from an early age, the game combines two of my passions."
Additionally, RZA mixed and produced two exclusive tracks — LL Cool J's "I Can't Live Without My Radio" Mixed With Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five doing "The Message" and Damian Marley's "Welcome To Jamrock" Mixed With Walter Murphy's "A Fifth of Beethoven." He praised the developers he worked with and punctuated his message with a RZAism.
"I loved working with the team and am excited for the fans to hear the two brand-new mixes I put together just for this game," he explained. "Bong bong!"
RZA will accompany DJ Qbert, David Guetta, DJ Shadow in the sequel when it lands on October 19. Check out the RZA trailer that Activision put out below, and you'll get some more info straight from his mouth about what the chance to collaborate with the video game industry has meant to him. You'll also get a biographical note about his first turntables that may surprise you.
